Where did May Go??

Hello My Girls!!

Mommy hasn't written to you in a long time. May was a super busy month around here. We had Daddy's birthday and Mother's Day and then Daddy went away to Calgary for a handball tournament for almost a whole week. We missed him lots!

You girls are getting soooo big! We had another ultrasound yesterday at 31weeks 5 days and you weighed 4lbs 9ozs and 4lbs 8ozs each. WOW! You girls are doing fantastic, we don't go see Dr. McCubbin again until the 12th but there were no problems so we can wait that long.

Your room is getting ready, we have both cribs set up and ready and your dresser and change table is all set up. We have lots of clothes and diapers and all kinds of things for you girls. Your uncle Duncan is doing some paintings for your room and Grandma M. is making your curtains and dust ruffles for your cribs. It's going to look great once it's all done!

Mommy is having a hard time getting around these days, your girls are so big and Mommy has put on 45lbs that her legs get so sore very fast. You need to stay in for 6 more weeks though so Mommy is trying not to complain too much about the sore legs and back pain and hand pain.....:)

I love you both very much and hope you can hear me when I talk to you at night. Daddy talks to you lots too but he does it in a funny voice so you will see once you are born that Daddy doesn't talk like that all the time.

Grow well my loves, I can feel you both kicking me lots right now and I love it!

All the Small Things....

Girly Girls!

Well, didn't you both just look perfect at your ultrasound on April 7th! 1pound 7 ounces and 1 pound 6 ounces. Perfect, perfect, perfect!! Dr. McCubbin was really happy with your sizes and with mommies weight gain and she told Mommy that after April 18th, no more work!! Mommy worked her last shift on Tuesday and that is it!

We have to do a gestational diabetes test on the 23rd and we see Dr. McCubbin again on the 24th because she is going to be away for a while and we want to make sure you are both doing well before she goes.


Today is Grandpa M's birthday and we had booked a 3D ultrasound for today. Wow, that was amazing. You both looked so beautiful and moved around lots so that we got some really good pictures of you both. We got a CD and a DVD with your pictures so we can share them with you after you are born. Mommy also couldn't resist buying you some more clothes online today. Shhh....don't tell Daddy. :) :)

I thought I would update a bit about what is going on in the world at this time. The Olympics are taking place in Beijing, China this summer and there is a lot of controversy going on about how China treats the people of Tibet and people are talking about boycotting the Olympics. BPA products are in the news a lot these days and is especially important for Mommy because BPA is found in certain baby bottles. Lots of stores removed BPA bottles from the shelves today and Health Canada is expecting to announce soon that they consider BPA to be a harmful substance. Mommy and Daddy are watching lots of hockey these days and it is playoff time, sadly the Oilers are not in the playoffs but it is still fun to watch, we both hope you girls are hockey fans!!

Spring Has Arrived!

Hello to My Girls!

Mommy can not believe how much you guys move around in there!! She was taking a bath the other day and you guys were just going crazy, she could see punches and kicks everywhere!!!

Daddy painted your room the other day and Grandma M is going to be staining your new dresser and changing the handles to make it look perfect for your new room. We need to go out and buy your cribs and some decorations and it should be ready for when you arrive .

Mommy has been doing lots of shopping for you guys, she just can't help it. Everything is just so cute and she just pictures you guys wearing it and she has to buy it. Yikes.

We got our new car on Wednesday, it is perfect and will fit you both nicely and will fit your double stroller perfectly, as well as whatever additional items we need to bring along. :) :)

We have another u/s on Monday to check on your growth. Mommy's belly is getting really big and she pretty much has no more belly button left so she is sure you are both growing perfectly. We also get to meet Dr. McCubbin on Monday and she is the doctor that will be delivering you both so she will probably be the first person you both see. We are so excited to see you both again on Monday and hope you are nice and active for the ultrasound so we can watch you move and dance around the screen.

Happy Easter to My Babies!!

Well, the Easter bunny found you here at our house. I couldn't believe it when I woke up but he left you both some really cute shirts and onesies.

Mommy and Daddy had a bad scare on Wednesday night. Mommy was having so much pain in her tummy she couldn't even stand up or lay down or do anything. She tried to sleep but it didn't work so Daddy took her to the Grey Nuns Hospital to get checked out. Everything was fine and they did a bunch of bloodwork/tests and checked on you both....twice! We are now pretty sure that you are both girls and we couldn't be happier!!! Not sure what the pain was but Mommy hopes it never ever comes back because it was really crappy. She had to have an IV and couldn't eat or drink for 10 hours, it was awful!!

Before this all happened on Wednesday, Daddy felt you kick for the first time, it was pretty amazing, Mommy was lying on the couch and she could feel one of you kicking her so she got Daddy's hand an put it on her belly and then you kicked Daddy, he loved it!

Hope you enjoy your chocolate today, Mommy sure will as she is so happy to know that you are both safe and secure inside her belly and growing big and strong.

Momma Feels So Good!!

Hello My Darlings!!

Lots has happened since we first found out about the two of you. Mommy took her car to a bunch of different places and none of the double strollers will fit in the trunk so.......we bought a new SUV!! We are getting it in about a week and it will be all ready for you guys when you arrive.

We have another appointment on Wednesday with Dr. Rokosh and then after that we have another ultrasounds on April 7th and we will meet Dr. McCubbin (the doctor that will deliver you both) on that same day. Mommy and Daddy are so excited to see you guys again and we are really really hoping that we can find out what you both are so please please please don't be modest and show off what you got!

We booked a 3D ultrasound on April 17th (Grandpa M.'s Birthday) and Mommy, Daddy, Grandpa M, Grandma M, Grandma V and Great Grandma W. will be coming to see you both on that day so we are very excited about that.

Mommy and Grandma V. went shopping yesterday and we pretty much picked out your stoller and car seats, we did buy some clothes and some vibrating bouncy chairs which I know you will both love.

Sleep and grow well my loves and we will talk again soon.

Hello to you Both!!

Well, this is our first post to you both. Daddy and I found out today that you are both in there, we could hardly believe it at the ultrasound today. We got to see you both wiggling around and moving your arms and legs around, you both look soooo beautiful. We got a few nice pictures and have been on the phone/internet all day sharing the news. Grandma and Grandpa M. and Grandma and Grandpa V. are soooooooo excited to be getting two grandbabies at the same time, more to love and share!!

Mommy is still feeling great, she went to her prenatal yoga class tonight with her friend Kathleen and was able to feel you guys moving around during the class. Mommy decided she needs to eat a little more to make sure you are both growing and gaining weight properly. We get to see you again in four weeks at our next ultrasound and Daddy and I are still hoping to find out if you guys are little girls/boys or one of each. We are pretty sure one of you is a girl but we couldn't see on you Baby B so if you feel like showing us in a few weeks that would be great.

We are home!!

Hello My Love,

We made it home safely from Ecuador last night after 24 hours of traveling. Yuck. Mommy was feeling very tired by the end and Daddy stayed up on the couch to meet us when we came home at 2am! We got lots of sleep today and are going to go to our first yoga class tonight in St. Albert.

You are sure getting bigger these days, Mommy is almost losing her belly button, she thought she might have lost it in Ecuador but it is still trying to hang on for a little while longer. We finally get to see you on Monday at the ultrasound, Mommy and Daddy are so excited to finally see you. You are moving around quite a bit but you haven't started kicking or poking Mommy yet, just little flutters of movement but it sure feels amazing.

Only 5 more months until we get to meet you in person, we can't wait and we will talk to you again soon.

Hey Baby!!

We are in Ecuador and Mommy is pretty sure she can feel you move now!! She keeps getting little flutters in her tummy and it is for sure not.....well you know what. Today we got to sleep in and will be off to the hospital later in the morning, hope you are enjoying all the good food here as much as Mommy is!!

Just another lazy Saturday....

Hello my love....hope you are feeling cozy and warm as once again it is -31C outside. Brrrr....it is supposed to warm up to -4C by Monday, that is crazy Alberta weather for you. We got to hear your heartbeat again on Monday at the doctors office, it was a little slower than last time so you must have been sleeping away. Everything else looks really good and Mommy's tummy is measuring exactly where it should be!! WE are so excited to see you on March 3rd at the ultrasound, and just a reminder if you wouldn't mind letting us take a peak at your little parts that would be appreciated.

Mommy is getting ready for her big trip to Ecuador this week and you get to come along!! Hope you like plane rides as we are flying from Edmonton to Houston and then Houston to Quito, Ecuador. Daddy is sure going to miss us but we will only be gone 10 days so it will be over before we know it. Sleep well my love and feel free to start kicking me anytime now......

Pleased to meet you! We've been sneaking listens at your heartbeat and you seem pretty strong and smart so far, which makes us happier than you could imagine! So obviously it's time to quit fooling around and set some ground rules. Here they are - obey them!
1) You're not allowed to leave your room for the next six months.
2) Anywhere your mother goes, you stick with her and don't wander!
3) You will eat all the food given to you, even all of your broccoli and brussel sprouts.
4) Because we don't have any shoes that fit your feet, you won't be allowed to play outside, especially because there's so much snow right now.
5) You will put on seven or eight more pounds of muscle, fat, bone, hair, ligaments, tendons, skin, and anything before you're ready for the big leagues.
6) Your mother's bladder is not a soccer ball.
7) If you don't like the colour we paint your room when you're first born, I'll give you a paintbrush and YOU can paint it again whatever color you want.
8) Have fun in there, and we'll see you in a few short months!

Hello Baby! Mommy is so sick today, she has a bad cough and cold. Everytime she coughs she can picture you bouncing around in there enjoying the ride. Hope you are feeling safe and cozy today, it is -32C outside so you are very lucky to be safe and snuggled inside where it is warm. When you are born it could be 60C warmer than it is today. Wow!!

Are you in there little fetus??

T-6months. We finally heard your heartbeat a couple weeks ago and it was the most amazing sound. It made it all seem more real. Daddy was there and when he heard your heartbeat he couldn't believe how fast and strong it was. We know you are going to be so healthy!! You have been growing lots lately and Mommy can tell because she is starting to get a real baby belly. She loves it! The only ache and pain Mommy has is in her hips and only when she is sleeping so she can't really complain. We are starting to think about names for you and we are hoping to find out if you are a boy or a girl on March 3rd when we finally get to see you!! Can't wait!
